Our caregiver position qualifications and work standards include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Be at least 18 years old

  • One (1) year of experience as a Caregiver preferred, but not necessary

  • Must be reliable, dependable and on time

  • Pass a drug screen and background check

  • Have a valid driver’s license, car insurance, and reliable transportation

  • Ensures confidentiality and security of the client's medical information

  • Ability to use sound judgement and remain calm in a variety of situations

  • Have a smartphone for clocking in and out on our mobile app

  • Empathy, compassion and kindness for the client is a MUST

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds

  • Negative TB skin test or chest x-ray

Essential tasks include, but are not limited to, assisting clients with…

  • Personal Care:

    • Supervising Overall Care, Record Keeping, and Care Note Documentation

    • Providing Assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and Instrumental ADLs

    • Assisting with Dressing, Wardrobe Planning, and Exercising

    • Bathing, Personal Hygiene, Oral Hygiene, and Grooming

    • Positioning and Transferring out of Bed or Chairs, and to Different Rooms

    • Ambulating, Toileting, and Incontinence Care

  • Companionship Care:

    • Transportation, Running Errands, Grocery Shopping, and Escorting to Appointments

    • Providing Companionship for Social, Recreational, and Entertainment Activities

    • Assisting with Communication and Conversation with Family, Friends, and Others

    • Emotional Support, Friendship, and Socializing

    • Medication Management and Reminders, and Intake Documentation

    • Assisting Clients with Confusion, Disorientation, or Mental Health Issues

  • Homemaking Care:

    • Meal Planning and Preparation

    • Light Cooking, Food Service, and Feeding Assistance

    • Laundry and Changing Linens

    • Home and Closet Organizing

    • Light Housekeeping, Dusting, and Cleanups

    • Vacuuming, Sweeping and Mopping

    • Pet Care

The physical requirements of the job include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting an adult from a lying position to a sitting position by lifting the adult safely

  • Assisting an adult who can bear some weight on their legs from a sitting position to a standing position by lifting safely and using
    proper body mechanics

  • Assisting an adult who can bear some weight on their legs from a standing to a sitting position by guiding them down and using proper body mechanics

  • Assisting an adult with reduced mobility in ambulating and transferring, including bearing some weight of the adult on the caregiver’s arms or shoulders

  • Lifting a minimum of 50 pounds

  • Safely rolling and repositioning a prone adult from back to side and side to back

  • Lifting a wheelchair into a car or trunk

  • Pushing a wheelchair with an adult across uneven surfaces

  • Carrying objects, including small household appliances

  • Adjusting furniture and positioning where necessary to provide care

  • Working with clients in and around beds, including making beds

Frequent activities and motions involved on the job include, but are not limited to:

    • Simple Grasping (both hands)

    • Power Grasping (both hands)

    • Fine Manipulation (both hands)

    • Pushing & Pulling (both hands)

    • Reaching (above shoulder level)

    • Reaching (below shoulder level)

    • Keyboarding on a phone with both hands

    • Sitting

    • Walking

    • Lifting

    • Bearing another adult’s weight on shoulders and arms

    • Standing

    • Bending (neck and waist)

    • Squatting

    • Climbing

    • Kneeling

    • Crawling

    • Twisting (neck and waist)
